Went in for a bit since I was waiting on my ride. Had a beer, watched a football game, they let me use my laptop at the bar. Super chill since it was a weeknight, great music, fun people.
I found me exactly what I was looking for... Fish and Chips. The beer was poured perfectly, the Eagle Rare was priced nicely, and the food was great. No frills, no need for them. Just a good old bar with good bar food and good people working. Definitely will be back!
Friendly and fun patrons. Excellent staff. Food is great. A big guy (Bobby,) cooked our kitchen order, and it was perfect! So nice to find a cook who really cares about doing it right!
Great vibes, great drinks, and even better service. The atmosphere at Black Whale Bar is always fun and welcoming, whether you’re out with friends or just grabbing a drink. Shilo the owner is absolutely amazing. Super friendly, attentive, and genuinely makes you feel taken care of the whole time. You can tell they care about the customers and the energy of the place. Definitely one of my go-to bars and I’ll keep coming back.

Brie was an amazing bartender, the atmosphere felt lively comfortable at the same time. Food was out of this world, and if you are carnivore ask for the Red's Stack. Highly recommend this place for a good night out.
It’s hard for me to say this, because if I leave an awesome review everyone is going to find my favorite watering hole, but at the same time the Black Whale Pub deserves all the praise. Without a doubt the best establishment in Downtown New Braunfels, with amazing food, great drinks, and the best staff around.
Bailey was soooooooo awesome! I Was having a rough day and Bailey just lit up the room. She was friendly and efficient. The Wurst sampler was 10/10. Cant wait to come back!
Decided to stop in for some appetizers and dinner with the family. This is our first time eating here. Great little pub! They had plenty of TVs for the sports games, but most were on the Spurs (finals game 2- we got this) The service was great and the GM Bree was funny and very attentive and made sure everything was correct on our food orders. She made some great drink recommendations that were spot on. Perfect service!! The food was really good and was cooked to specifications and tasted so amazing. The atmosphere was pretty good and everyone was just enjoying themselves and the game. (Not any loud wild people). We will definitely be looking to come back and get some more food and drinks.
Delicious. We’ve heard about this spot but it was our first time trying their food and we were blown away. I had the American dog with fries and the food was fresh and hot! The fries were seasoned perfectly and the dog had the perfect ratio of toppings. I highly recommend!
